Product Description In ?kami, the legendary monster Orochi has come back to life and turned the world into a veritable wasteland. Players must assume the role of a wolf, an embodiment of the sun god Amaterasu, which is capable of wielding unimaginable power. The state of the world lies in your hands as you must fight ominous beings and reclaim the earth from a curse that plagues it. It is crucial to help Amaterasu make the world a place where all living creatures can dwell once again. Defeating the creatures that Amaterasu encounters will not be a small feat. The real-time fighting system not only involves biting and ramming strikes, but also allows for various attacks using bronze mirror of Yata on its back as well as a host of other unique abilities. This system allows the usage of a myriad of specials attacks typically not associated with the physical prowess of a normal wolf. As the wolf becomes more powerful, more attacks become available. This blend of stylized graphics and unique gameplay will result in a rich and dynamic experience never seen before. Traditional Japanese art comes alive through beautiful scenic 3D levels Rooted in the third person perspective, you will need to interact with the people you encounter, building their faith by clandestinely answering their prayers and wishes

60+ hours of gameplay: beauty and brawn January 4, 2009 Charles E. Breiling (Philadelphia, PA USA) I'll echo what the other 5-star reviewers wrote. This is a truly beautiful game, with areas to explore, puzzles to solve, challenges to best, and lots of combat. The only real criticism is that a few of the brushstrokes were hard to do with the Wiimote. This only came up a few times in the game, and consulting online message boards gave hints on techniques that worked for others. It had replay value for me, for one of the side quests is finding "100 stray beads" and I had a lot of fun, after initially winning the game, going back through and finding these stray beads. Yes, the game is talky at times, but there is a very detailed mythology associated with the game, and for me, it only enhanced the experience. Highly recommended.
Beautiful but boring December 15, 2008 mdMDT 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Way, way, way too wordy. The intro just goes on and on and on. Then when you think you're finally playing the game solo, that stupid bug just keeps talking. It's an aesthetically gorgeous game but after the first couple hours of hitting A repeatedly to get through all the dialogue I wanted to gouge my eyes out with a spoon.
Fun game, lots of gameplay November 30, 2008 rancid-tea (Minnesota) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is great for anyone who likes to be involved in games for a long time. It's visually beautiful, fun to play, and leaves me wondering what will happen next in the story. It's also very good at reusing maps so that you don't have to learn the intricate details of a new map for every adventure.
Playing Art November 29, 2008 Raven Lee (Madison, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a beautiful game with a wonderful game mechanic. You have a power that enables you to pause the game and make brush strokes on screen. You can fill in areas, repair bridges, make cuts, etc. It truly expands the mind. The only negative that affects gameplay may be puzzles that are too difficult or the brushwork not being easy to do. Highly recommended.
A Masterpiece. November 25, 2008 Steven Gilbert (Des Moines, IA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game was quite easily probably the best game I have ever played in my life. The story line was amazing and wrapped you into it, the visuals, they were simply fantastic, the game play was very precise and couldn't be any better. It took me 56 or so hours to beat so it was well worth the money in quality and in time it took to play. Plenty of secrets and side-quests to find. I would without a doubt give this game a 10 out of 10.
